Jerk Shack: Brunswick GA's Hidden Gem

Oh my... I am so glad that I found this amazing place in Brunswick GA.  Even though Brunswick is a small town with very few restaurants to offer, every single restaurant I've been to has been amazingly good. This one was added to my list immediately.  I fell in love with the cute family atmosphere,  incredibly friendly cooks that gave us samples of every meat and chicken soup before we ordered, and packed our to-go-box full of food!  I will be returning again and again as long as I am in town.  Highly recommend!!!!

Tiny little shack in the middle of a parking lot.

They had random assortment of groceries that I have never seen before anywhere else.

The large plate consisting of dirty rice, jerk chicken, oxtail, coco bread, plantains, and the conch fritters.  I died and went to heaven!

And they stuffed our boxes.  It was worth every  penny!  The whole meal, which will probably last us about 3 days, cost 21 dollars!

Rainbow Drive-In in Honolulu, Hawai'i - Authentic Hawaiian BBQ

The interview season finally comes to an end with Hawai'i. One of the physicians that I interviewed with strongly recommended this local favorite as the best example of "authentic hawaiian cuisine".  I was able to pick up some food before my morning flight because thankfully the restaurant opened at 7AM.  I ordered the "mixed platter" (per the interviewer's suggestion) and was not disappointed!  I took the dish all the way to my gate and devoured it before boarding the flight.

PS: Apparently this restaurant was also featured in an episode of Diners Drive-ins and Drives with Guy Fieri!

A rare cloudy day in Oahu

The mixed platter: BBQ pork, Mahi Mahi with tartar sauce, Boneless Chicken, mac and cheese and white rice.   The BBQ pork was my favorite (seen sandwiched in the middle) and the tartar sauce went very well with the Mahi Mahi.  This massive platter was only $7.95+tax!
My plate packaged very neatly. It survived the trip to the airport and pretty much looked the same when my opened the box again.

Kayak Cafe: Voted best salads in Savannah GA

I am finally back in Savannah again after a very busy interview season.  My friends who all have been traveling for interviews were able to meet up again in Savannah.  We spent 3 days doing free yoga classes, eating out and catching up.  I am going to miss them dearly when we go our separate ways after graduation.

This is Kayak Cafe in downtown Savannah.  They are known for their delicious salads and creative sandwiches. Their tacos are absolutely phenomenal as well.

The caesar salad that came with my "half and half" deal.  (half salad half sandwich).  It was such a big salad and probably could have been an entree on its own.

The "Islander" sandwich: curried chicken salad, mango chutney, vidalia onion, roma tomatoes & organic greens.

Giantic Buffet at Sian Ka'an Resort, Quinta Roo Mexico

All my life I've had a weakness for buffets, maybe because my guardians took me to Golden Corral to celebrate any special occasion.  I even requested that my friends and I all go to a local Chinese buffet for my last birthday.   They tried to convince me to go to an upscale local restaurant instead but we ended up at the Augusta Hibachi Grill Supreme Buffet.  Best birthday ever.

These are the pictures from the Sian Ka'an all inclusive main buffet.  Needless to say, I ate my weight everyday.
